Brainkinetik as an innovative therapeutic approach: Pioneering research on posttraumatic growth in children and adolescents
Abstract
This presentation focuses on Brainkinetik as an innovative therapeutic approach designed to enhance neuropsychological development and healing processes in children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. Rooted in the principles of neuroplasticity and the integration of brain functions, Brainkinetik combines elements of movement, perception, and cognition to strengthen the nervous system’s capacity for self-regulation and adaptation. The lecture will present findings from original research conducted as part of an ongoing doctoral dissertation, analyzing the therapeutic outcomes of Brainkinetik in fostering posttraumatic growth among young clients. Particular attention will be devoted to the neurobiological mechanisms underlying improvements in cognitive, emotional, and social functioning, as well as to the practical implications for interdisciplinary collaboration among pedagogy, psychology, and neurotherapy. The presentation will also include case studies illustrating how carefully designed movement-cognitive exercises stimulate neural correlates of psychological resilience, support recovery, and foster integration of body and mind. The conclusions drawn from this research may significantly enrich clinical practice and contribute to preventive programs in the field of child and adolescent mental health.
